1970 Dodge A-108 Sportsman Van (A-100 A100) Vintage Classic Camper Van
1970 Dodge Other Base Description
Up for sale is a 1970 Dodge A-108 Sportsman passenger van. She is a great candidate for a personalized campervan! A solid blank canvas. Please read through the entire listing, I will try to be as honest and thorough as I can. Thanks!
It has a 318 V8 and 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission.
She is in good running condition. The engine runs smoothly (after warm up), shifts good, steers good, and stops good. Lights work (high beams as well), wipers work, horn works. All doors open and close fine. Pop out windows pop out as they should. Front windows roll up and down fine. The odometer shows about 19,xxx miles, I assume it has rolled over. So the actual mileage is most likely 120,000+. She usually needs some gas pumped before she'll start, I think this is just the nature of the beast, as she is in tune. I have MANY pictures, I tried to get pictures of any flaws to note. If you would like to see something specific, just ask.
*All work/modifications have taken place during the past year and a half*
The Good:
-Practically new UniRoyal whitewall tires (7/22/15) (Very low miles)
-FSR Aluminum Radiator+ new hoses (Fan shroud has been customized to fit application)
-Pertronix electronic ignition + new coil
-New front shocks
-Carburetor cleaned recently
-Front leaf spring bushings replaced
-Newer spark plugs, wires, distributorcap and rotor
-New front turn signal lenses
-Door seals replaced
-Pop out window seals replaced
-Nice front seats from a later 70's Dodge B van
-Valve cover gaskets replaced
-Kingpins greased
-Engine cover insulated (heat & sound) with QuietRide Solutions (Dynamat)
-The body is in overall great shape
-Drives down the road just fine
The Bad:
-Radio, backup lights, dome lights, and heater are not hooked up
-Missing sun visors
-Drivers doors and cargo doors do not lock (Passenger door locks)
-Paint isn't perfect, has some chips, flaws, etc
-Has a screw hole under the antenna on the nose (where a previous type of antenna was mounted before the current one, I assume)
-The front mirrors are missing a couple bolts
-Front windows need window channels (not watertight at the moment)
-Engine cover had some holes in it (from things being mounted to it, I assume) I tried to caulk them, but I am not a professional.
-Front floor of van is in flat white, so it shows dirt easily
-Air vent door in front of passenger (under dash) is not hooked up (I have it)
-Rear corner has a "cracked" look to it, may have suffered some damage and been repaired in the past
-Small tear in vinyl on the rear of the driver's seat
-Has a couple spots of surface rust and/or paint bubbling up on outside. Some surface rust on the inner ceiling above the support beams
-Rust though areas (minimal): Upper part of driver and passenger door jamb, upper part of rear passenger side door jamb, small hole in pillar of rear door frame
-A hole in the side cargo door by the handle (not visible from inside or outside, see picture) doesn't appear to be made from rust
-I replaced the door seals myself, I am not a professional, so there is some black adhesive on the doors near the rubber (not visible from outside or inside, on sides of doors. Can be sanded off)
Numerous extra parts will be included with the sale of this vehicle. *Many parts came from a '68 or '69 van*

I've described this vehicle the best I can. I personally bought it to make it into a campervan. I have done, and have had done a lot of work to it. Most of "The Bad" is just little things. This vehicle can definitely be driven as is while you make it your own. Vehicle is being sold with no guarantees, sold as is. It is an old vehicle, and as you know they can be unpredictable. I have to say that to protect my butt! Buyer will arrange shipping or pickup. I will help with the process as much as I can. I have had good luck with Uship. Please feel free to give me a call at 812-584-6518 if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Joe
