1968 Ford Fairlane Hotrod Description

1968 Ford Fairlane Station wagon
Born a base granny unit, with a 200ci straight six, C4 trans, 8" rear and drum brakes on all four corners, but that was then...
...and this is now...
Under the hood resides 460 cubic inch, which includes 429 Cobra Jet heads, cam, Weiand manifold, Holley carb, and MSD ignition.
With all of the power and torque, you need to get it to the back of the car, which includes upgrading the transmission to the proven heavy duty C6 auto trans, and spinning through the venerable Ford 9" with a 3:08 rear gear for ideal cruising.
With all of that go power, you need to be able to stop, therefore, the front brakes have been converted to big disks.
Finished in the original Wimbledon White, gold "C" stripes have been added along with Ford OE Sport mirrors, and hood scoop to give it that Torino / Fairlane GT look.
The body is true, and straight, all steel with no bondo. The underside of the doors, rockers are all solid (see magnet pix). Behind the drivers side rear wheel, and on the tailgate are the only minor issues with any paint bubbles.
The headliner is tight, but has a couple small tears, however, there is a brand new, in box replacement that is included.
All electrics work, starts, runs fine.
This is a cool fun driver, that gets more enthusiastic thumbs up than anything else I've owned or driven.
Clean, unmolested wagons like this are getting harder, and harder to find. These are also the "next" thing in the collector car world.
This is a great car, at and entry level price. (low reserve)
Car has a clean and clear California title in hand. I can help with transport for out of town bidders.
The car is for sale locally, therefore I reserve the right to end the auction early.
Happy Bidding on the old school, cool beach, surf wagon.
$1,000 deposit required within 48 hours of close of auction (via Paypal), with the balance within 7 days (of close of auction) in cash (if local buyer), or wire / bank transfer for out of area bidders.
