Before we begin, I want you to know that like you, I'm a classic car and truck fanatic.I've also been aneBayer sinceFebruary, 1998 and take pride in only receiving positive feedback over the last 19+ years.I've owned dozens of cars over the years and have made many sight unseen deals (many here on eBay) to buy or sell cars across the country.
In addition, I strongly believe in the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words." The Internet has allowed us in our hobby to search for cars nationwide and it's my hope to make you as comfortable as possible with this purchase. Please take the time necessary to really look my detailed photos and videos over. So many sellers skate over all of the areas of these trucks we want to see...lower body panels, wheel wells, chrome, undercarriage, etc. I think it's important to photograph every area of these trucks so you have an honest idea of its spectacular condition.
In the event you decide to purchase this truck sight unseen, I want you to feel like you've already seen the truck in person. Please notice that similar photos are not duplicates. I tried to take some photos in the shade and others in the sun, so you'll get a more realistic understanding of how clean this truck is. When you're finished looking, I hope you'll genuinely feel like you just looked the truck over at my home.
For sale today is an untouched, low mile survivor, 1992 Ford F150 XLT, extended cab, short box pickup truck, with Ford's legendary 351 V8. This pickup has just 57,800 original miles and spent its life garaged in Ariozona...what a stunning time capsule!
Please grab your favorite beverage and take some time to look at the High Definition videos and over 200 high quality photos of this special pickup truck.
Overall Information
As seen in the videos, the truck starts, runs, drives, accelerates, and brakes like it should. There are no games with this gorgeous truck, it's simply an incredibly well-cared for survivor. I suspect this truck was purchased as a weekend "going to town" truck and its condition shows how well it has been cared for over the years.
The pickup is optioned out nicely, including the rare 351 V8 backed by a heavy duty C6 (code E on the door tag) Automatic w Overdrive transmission. It also features factory bucket seats with center console, as well as all the normal power options you'd expect from a truck with the XLT package.
I will let the videos and photos tell the story of this terrific pickup. The 99% factory painthas a glow and gloss that turns heads wherever this truck goes.(top edge of tailgate appears to have been touched up...seen in photos)
Although the truck looks stunning, there are minor nicks and very light scratches that I would consider normal for a 25 year old truck. It's been well cared for, but it's still been driven a bit. Notice in the photos that the top of the tailgate has been touched up at some point. The truck had a cap on it at some point and a previous owner touched up where the cap door must've rubbed on the top of the tailgate. Other things to note include light scratches that have been touched up on the paint, a few dings in the paint, trim and bumpers, and scratches on the top of the front bumper where people stood to check the oil. The window trim is bright and looks terrific. Please note the gorgeous box and bed area on the truck. There are scratches in the box that have not been touched up. Also note that all the glass is nice, but it does have some hard water spotting.
Also please note the gorgeous original plating of items like exhaust brackets, latches, and grounds throughout the truck. Notice how nice the chrome and trim is on the truck!
The truck has a brake controller installed, but note how little wear is on the hitch. I suspect this controller was installed when the truck was nearly new and the truck very rarely towed anything afterward.
Interior
The gray interior is in fantastic condition and has never been smoked in. The dash is clean, there are no tears in the bucket seats, and the door panels show nicely. I noticed a small stain in the extended cab portion of the carpet, that I show photos of. As shown in the videos, the power options work, the radio works, and the AC blows cold!
Engine Compartment
The engine compartment is just as clean as the rest of the truck. From the underside of the hood, to the firewall, I think you'll be impressed. Please note all of the original Ford items throughout the engine compartment, including the hoses. Also, please notice how bright all of the plating is on the truck, showing it was stored in a dry environment over the years.
Undercarriage
The undercarriage of this pickup is absolutely stunning. Note how rust free the frame and floorboards are! The floor of the cab and bed look nearly new. The undercarriage has not been attacked with a can of black spray paint; the frame and floors are untouched. The underside has been recently protected with a coat of WD40 to protect the original finish. The WD leaves a light film (but not oily) on the undercarriage, which protects it from rain.
So, Can I Drive It?
I've included video of the truck idling, driving and highway speeds, and shifting through the gears. The truck stops like it should and doesn't pull.
The tires are nearly new and the truck has a recent front end alignment. The shop that performed the alignment commented that the front end suspension is tight. In addition, the transmission fluid and oil were recently changed, the brake fluid was flushed and new master cylinder installed, a new serpentine belt was recently installed, and an EGR valve was recently installed. The check engine light code 332 is intermittent and seems to be vacuum related. It does not affect the way the truck runs or drives. I will continue to investigate and found this article that should be helpful: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1109187-egr-valve-problem-solved-error-code-332-a.html
