1985 Ford Mustang LX (California Highway Patrol - SSP) Description

I finished restoring this car nearly two years ago. I have not yet shown it, it just sits in my garage under a car cover and is started occasionally to keep the drivetrain lubricated...
This car is completely ORIGINAL down to the factory Y-Pipe exhaust. Engine is 100% stock (not modified). Has new A/C Compressor. Ford Holley Carb has been completely and professionally rebuilt. Engine is very clean, great compression. Does not leak or burn any oil. Engine and engine compartment have been completely detailed back to as-new, original condition. Transmission is very clean, inner gears are in fantastic shape. Clutch is not new, however still has 50-70% life left. Rear gears are original and very clean. Paint on the car is very good (not perfect, has a minor repaired chip here and there - but it is very nice). Interior seats are ORIGINAL and in extremely nice condition. New Carpet, new dash pad and new headliner. This is a "radio delete" SSP. Car has most all the original equipment with the car. Siren is mounted below front drivers side bumper. Rear Deck Lights are original and mounted on back window deck. Correct black (brass) front spot lights are installed in pillars. Correct Antennas are mounted, including whip and whip bracket. All period correct CHP SSP Decals are installed in the proper locations. Wheels: (before anyone chimes in that they are not supposed to have the trim rings...), I have been told that this car HAD these trim rings on it while in service in Northern California. It was likely added by the officer assigned to the car. I have heard that there were a few that had them while in service. If you don't like them - take them off! Has the correct ARGENT painted center wheel caps with aluminum features (86 were chrome). I don't know what I am leaving out... If you have specific questions, please ask. Car has pretty good documentation in the SSP websites (.ORG and .NET). Even Googling CHP 8302 will list results of past ownership and other history on the internet! This car is basically DONE now and it is ready to be shown and enjoyed. Though it is not "cheap", there is a lot of time and money in this car - and it is becoming more and more difficult to put one together with the correct parts these days... (not to mention the difficulty of finding the SSP & CHP original equipment!). IF NEEDED, I will also sell my open car trailer (dove tail) to whomever buys this car if it is needed for $1400... If you know "SSP's", it is an investment purchase that will only go up in value over time. What is seemingly affordable "today" may very well not be in the next ten or so years... (maybe sooner).
No test drives with this car. It is NOT registered to drive on the roads (since it is a fully marked police car). It is intended as a show car, collection car only (which can drive from your trailer to the show space).
