1977 Ford F-250 Highboy Description

A mean-looking fully-restored all-black pickup that also still has the big V8 and 4x4 ability to get the job done, and it's all at an ultra affordable price?! Yes, this 1977 Ford F-250 Custom "Highboy" is truly an irresistible truck that can give you everything you want, and turn more heads for far less than the price of a new 4x4.This vintage hauler offers just the right combination of functionality and flash, and the current condition is a wonderful testament to someone's rather large investment in its restoration. The sinister black paint is a very professional respray of the original code-A Raven Black. It accentuates the truck's square-jawed lines, giving it a beefy appearance that looks like there's no project it can't handle. The body is in excellent condition, and we know exactly why. This pickup was specifically selected to be someone's restored baby, and we have over $13,000 in just restoration recipes, which do not include paint, or the cost of the pickup! The front chrome bumper is in excellent shape and the grille with its trademark high-mounted parking lights is instantly recognizable as a Ford from a mile away. The turbine wheels are a nice way to add distinction without being too flashy. But as great as the truck looks, the upgrade to the F-250 in the '70s was about delivering extra work ability. So that spirit has always been kept in mind with features like the tow hitch, a sprayed in non-skid bed liner, and the really cool lockable toolbox that was optional on the 8-foot bed pickups. The restoration budget was not blown on the exterior, because we can see plenty of investment in the interior, too. The black seat, door panels, and carpeting are factory-correct but look much fresher than anything from the 70s. While this pickup is a sea of black, the darkness is broken up by features like the wood on the steering wheel, and the cool Ford family crest encased in the shift knob. The upgrades inside have been nicely integrated with auxiliary gauges keeping with the same black and white appearance as the restored factory readouts. You even get a tach, which is a thoughtful addition to this floor shift pickup. The radio keeps the classic knob-style appearance, but it's really a modern digital tuner with an auxiliary input for more modern music players. But your favorite feature in a pickup like this is going to be just opening up the side vent windows and having the breeze flow through to the sliding rear window.Whether you want this for work or play (or both), you'll love that the full drivetrain was part of the 2009 restoration project. The 400 cubic-inch V8 was completely rebuilt with less than 2,200 miles on it since completion. Not only does that mean all the shiny components look great in the slick black engine bay (let's face it, you're going to want to show off every inch of this pickup), but also there's been component upgrades for added performance and reliability. It includes an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, headers, and an MSD ignition & coil. So it reliably fires right up like a good pickup should, but it also has an intimidating rumble that's second to none. This investment was far more than just the monster motor. It included the rebuilt four-speed manual transmission, as well as going through the bearings, front end, and Dana 60 rear end. Yes, this is the classic 4x4 that's like you best friend who's ready and able for whatever adventure you want to go on today. And the power steering and front disc brakes are always welcomed no matter if you are on the street or trail. We've got all the restoration details and receipts that we'll be happy to go over with you. But honestly, you can already see that you get far more 4x4 truck than its affordable price is asking. So don't let everything you want in a vintage pickup get snatched up by someone else.
