Up for your perusal is a 1958 right hand drive MGA. I really dont have the full history of how or why it came to be in the US. It was the subject of a frame off resto early 2000's, I have a couple of photo's. I know that the resto included engine/transmission rebuild. I have no reason to doubt that as it runs extremely well. It is is the original 1500 engine, in fact it appears to be completely original downto the generator.I bought this a little over year ago as a small project. I ended up taking the ancillaries off the engine and repainting the block/head/Starter/generator/rocker cover (new gasket) and inlet manifold the correct MG red andhad the exhaust manifold ceramic coated. I replaced the clutch cylinder, water pump, heater valve, fan belt and spark plugs. The radiator I had boiled out and painted, added a fan shroud and thermostaticelectric fan - just a precaution. I completely rebuilt the carbs (with superdry jet bearing kit), had them polished and added K and N filters, and fitted new choke cable. I have just completely rebuilt the front suspension: New brake cylinders, new shock absorbers and poly bushes all round. I also cleaned and repainted all the parts while off. The rear brake cylinders are fine - of course complete brake fluid bleed.
The paintwork is bright, it has obviously been garage stored since the resto. Two areas have slight 'cracks' - dime size, one on the front wing and a small area around the fuel cap. There is also a longer very slight crack in the paint below the bumper on the back wing - i have tried to capture that, but you cant see unless you get on hands and knees difficult to pick out, I am simply a perfectionist, and want to be transparent... I was going to get that addressed, but will leave to the next owner to decide. There is no rust on this car, so use at is, go to shows, or be a perfectionist and get those areastaken care of.
A couple of obligatory oil leaks - I did not know this engine doesn't have a rear main seal, but does have a push up plug in bell housing to drain any oil -- English engineering at its finest...
The interior is in great shape as you can see, The top is in great shape, as is the tonneau cover. The side curtains are next to useless! Needing brackets etc. I have never had them on - fair weather driver they will need complete re-build or replace ($500)
The wire wheels are in excellent condition, tires have plenty of tread. Tool bag and crank starting handle in the trunk.
So there you have it, please ask any questions and/or swing by if your in the area
