1969 Hurst Olds Oldsmobile 442
1969 Oldsmobile Other Description
1969 Hurst Olds non running project
I purchased this HO project with the best intentions of finishing and enjoying it but with the things the way they are, health and family issues its time to downsize the fleet. Previous owner disassembled the car to restore 25 years ago, had any minor rust repaired and put in prime. The car was sanded for paint and never painted. The car is on file with the HOCA (Hurst Olds Club of America) as being an original genuine 69 H/O but is not one with Demmer paperwork.
Its car number 759 as stated on the original OH transmission which has been rebuilt by the previous owner, retains its original SL code rear which has had new bearings and seals installed with zero miles on either component since being rebuilt. Unfortunately the original motor, D heads, intake manifold and air cleaner are long gone. The car does come with a reproduction air cleaner, the original 989 distributor and original restored 7029251 carburetor.Engine is non original number, date code correct 69 455 with 60K on it. Clean inside with no ridges on the cylinders. C heads have been removed and are included as well as standard "J" 69 intake manifold. This is a non A/C car that was built for one purpose, to go fast and has no options besides power trunk.
Rear seats and drivers seat have been recovered, passengers seat will need to be and new seat foams and cover is included. Comes with new carpet kit as well. Headliner will need to be replaced. Dash and dash pad are in mint condition and has a beautiful rally pac. No rust in the dash or around the windshield or rear glass.
Body is in very good condition with all rust repair having been done 20+ years ago by the previous owner. Garaged since then but having sustained a few dings and scratches in the primer while in storage. There's a few bigger one's on the roof and I seen one in each quarter panel, all which are easily fixed. Trunk floor is solid as are the floors. One small tear is present in the drivers front floor where something must have hit it from underneath but it is also an easy fix. All glass is good, windshield was replaced by previous owner.
Car retains its original chrome valve covers, spoiler, hood scoop, date coded mirrors, 4 core radiator support and top plate. There is a 4 core radiator in the car but it is not an original Harrison.
All steering and suspension has been rebuilt by the previous owner as well as the entire braking system with new lines and original master cylinder rebuilt.
All 4 original Hurst wheels have been restored with new chrome and repainted centers. One may need to be repainted or touched up as I think I recall seeing a scratch in it? Comes with new repro center caps as well. Original console and top plate are beautiful and the tail light bezels are the nicest pair of originals I've ever seen.
Front grille work all repainted in black with the exception of one of the headlight housings. Almost all the pieces are there to put the car back together. Bumpers are cores and would need to be straightened and rechromed.
