1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Description

This is a super clean looking machine. Complimenting that iconic front end is nothing but a shiny Red paint job, an aggressive stance, and a bark to the exhaust that says more than a bunch of badges on the fenders or rally stripes could say. Check it out. Let's dwell on the RS front end for a moment. The hideaway headlights on the 68s look like a continuation of the grill. Simple, clean, trimmed out in thin...chrome piping and underlined by a simple, pencil thin chrome bumper. It just doesn't get much better than that. The Red paint flows up and over the power bulge of the cowl induction hood and reflects the light off the crisp clean lines down the center of that hood and the tops of the fenders. The aggressive rake to the chassis is obvious from the side and the coke bottle curves of the body look great, especially on the rear fenders that bulge out to cover the back tires mounted on sweet looking REV wheels. Polished stainless discreetly trims out the wheel wells and the windows, and the back of the car ties things together nicely with a rear deck spoiler, an RS gas cap between the taillights, and another pencil thin bumper. Open the door and you will find a Black interior that is simple, yet set up for business. The door panel itself is Black with horizontal pleating and slashes of chrome across the top and bottom. The front bucket seats are comfortable with pleated seating surfaces and smooth side bolsters. Slide into the driver's seat and you will find a beefy steering wheel mounted on a chrome three spoke hub. In the center console is a Hurst dual gate shifter that looks like its ready for business. Reinforcing that perception is a trio of Sunpro gauges mounted just in front of it for keeping accurate tabs on water temp, oil pressure and the charging system as well as a Sun Super Tach to remind you to keep the revs within bounds. The rest of the dash is stock with a bit of wood-tone surrounding the radio and ventilation controls. Pop the hood open and you will find a healthy 350 cubic inch motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. A chrome Edelbrock air topper looks good and sits on top of an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold. Chrome valve covers add their splash of flash to the engine bay while long tube headers wind their way out the bottom to dual Flowmaster mufflers and it all works together to make this car sound awesome. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels mounted on leaf springs. Up front, control arms and coil springs keep things under control with some new components tightening up the steering and helping the car handle nicely. Front disc brakes insure that you can haul this ride back down from speed if you decide to let those horses run, and the rubber meets the road through 225/45/R17s up front and 235/55R17s in the back, all mounted on those great looking chrome REV wheels. A beautiful example of a '68 RS. Neat, clean, and healthy. Come on down and check it out.
