Very original 1971 Hemi Cuda pistol grip four speed matching numbers 4.10 Dana
1971 Plymouth Barracuda Description
This Sno white hemi cuda is one of the best examples of a 1971 cuda still in existence. Its options include a pistol grip four speed, rallye das, leather seats and the bullet proof Dana rear end with the super trac pack 4.10. The billboards have been added but that option alone can add hundreds of thousands of dollars to the value of these cars depending if that option v6w white or v6x black was factory ordered with a good color. The car looked pretty darn good before the billboards were added a common practice on 71 cudas among enthusiasts. Its a love em or hate them relationship. More importantly what everyone always asks or says what they want in a 71 hemi cuda is matching numbers, good color, pistol grip four speed, rallye dash and original body and sheetmetal. A pretty tall order for any big block muscle car . This car has all the these things. Raced crashed full throttled and raced again was common practice back in the day. Of the approximately 107 hardtops built there were 59 hemi four speeds. How many are still left and retain everything this Sno White car has is a very low number. If I had to guess the number would be between ten and twenty. And thats probably a generous estimate. This Sno White cuda looks great with any other cuda or color next to it.. It can make the most testing browns, greens, tawny, golds and copper color cars look good even great next to it. I know, I have moved the car around next to just about every car in the shop and it never fails to come thru. A corner stone to any collection this hemi cuda is one of the best . For many years when I first started collecting these cars in late eighties I only saw a few 70 hemi cudas production 652 cars.. If someone owned a 71 they wouldnt tell you and or hide it from sight. Much like the owners of the iconic Hemi Daytonas these owners had no interest in talking to you.. They knew what the had and it was something very coveted by the few that owned them. It wasnt until the prices started moving up at that a few cars began to surface. Granted this is an expensive car but it seems that prices of very good 70 cars are in the range of 250 to 400 hundred k. To fully restore one of these cars can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. I have seen a few 71 four speed cars sell under five hundred but not checking all the boxes when it comes to color or pedigree.. Buy a cheaper car get a discount, an off colo, poor restoratio, non matching and you may wish you had spent a little more to get a better car. . Auctions are great and fun to attend but by the time you pay the commision and get bid up you would have been better off staying home and negotiating a deal with a non dealer such as myself. I will consider cuda or cuda convertible trades and cash but no bad colors and clone cars with excuses. I have several cars listed for sale on ebay. Its a bit of a boistrous crowd in the garage.
