1965 Plymouth Valiant V200 Wagon
RARE Factory 273, four speed
Up for bid is an ultra rare 4 speed, V8 Valiant V200 Wagon. I was attempting to duplicate the parts chase or race support vehicle for a 60's high performance machine shop. I have tried to keep all of the accessories in line with the late 60's and early 70's.
Original color, medium Turquoise Metallic, with Wimbledon white top (not stock), matching Turquoise interior. Nice paint, but could use cut and buff.
1999 5.2 Magnum, M-1dual plane intake, new Edelbrock 600 carb (choke not hooked up) and vintage Edelbrock aluminum valve covers. No leaks, no smoke, no oil consumption. New Edelbrock chrome air cleaner. New mini starter. Mopar electronic ignition. New electric fuel pump. 833 four speed rebuilt, (slight drip at bearing retainer) new Brewer’s 10” clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing. A body 8 ¾ sure-grip rear, supposed to be 2:76, I never checked. Sub-frames tied. New dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, transmission cross member modified for duals. Radiator rodded out, runs cool.
New Scarbird front disc brakes, calipers, rotors, pads, bearings, new master cylinder, front lines and proportioning valve. New rear wheel cylinders. Huge front sway bar. Ball and trunion drive shaft replaced with slip joint. BFG Advantage T/A’s (205 60 15 and 215 60 15) mounted on Stockton Wheel custom 7 X 15 small bolt pattern chrome reverse wheels with Valiant/Barracuda centers.
New windshield and seal. All trim is nice and present. Bumpers re-chromed, all stainless and aluminum polished except drip rail and window trim. New door cat whiskers. Interior of doors had been repainted, the rest of the interior is original Comes with rear window wind deflectors, requiring a little work to be installed. Original spare and Jack. Speed Masters logo and numerous easily removed vintage and vintage reproduction speed equipment decals. Rear quarters have been replaced with donor quarters. No other rust. Rear window works fine with crank. The driver’s side tailgate mount has broken out of the tailgate, it is not rusted, it appears to be stress cracked. Consequently the tail gate can’t be opened without the possibility of damage. If the person I want to fix it becomes available, it will be repaired, but I cannot guarantee that it will be repaired. The rear bumper will need to be removed to safely open and remove the tailgate for repair.
All gauges and wipers work as they should. Speedo is about 5 mph low. Three point retractable seat belt/shoulder harnesses in front, two seat belts in back. Vinyl upholstered dash pad. Nice headliner. Very nice Tri tone turquoise 64 Dodge Dart 270 door panels. Small chrome fire extinguisher mounted to floor. Moon Eyes floor mats. Carpet shows some staining, drivers side, under floor mat. NOS AM-FM cassette with vintage power booster/equalizer. Twin 3 ½” speakers in dash, twin 6”x9” in rear. Vintage Medallion tach. Rare Stewart Warner square Amp/Oil pressure gauge, amp side is not hooked up. Turn signals don’t cancel on left turn, I will include new cancel cam. Needs new shifter boot available at Layson’s. I do have a rebuildable 65 Commando 273, if some one wants to go that route.
This is not a show car, but it is an excellent driver that I have been proud to show at local shows all over California. I have tried to represent it as well as I can. It is not perfect. Please do not hesitate to ask questions or request more pictures. I don't like surprises and I am sure you don't either. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
