1984 Subaru GL Hatchback
1984 Subaru GL 4WD Description
1984 Subaru GL Hatchback with 125940 miles. 4 speed manual transmission with selectable 4wd Hi/Lo. Weber carb conversion, 2 sets of wheels/tires (winter & standard). Aftermarket stereo with subs behind seats. Has rare cargo cover in hatch area and factory AC (R22). Interior is in great shape. Its an old car and has its quirks but has been very very dependable and low maintenance. This is my daily driver so the miles will go up slightly.
Known quirks:
- highish idle, probably due to wrong jets in carb. I have a weber rejet kit that will come with it I just never got around to fixing it.- winter tires show a bit of dry rot on the sidewalls- two small rust spots on body right in front of each rear wheel (see photos). This is a common spot for these cars.- passenger visor is missing bracket- headlights are LED and brights are unplugged currently, if you revert back to original halogen bulbs everything works as it should- rock chips on hood from previous owner due to Colorado winters- AC works but doesn't blow very cold, since its R22 refrigerant it can't be recharged that I know of.- heater core doesn't seem to work very well, but engine heat with the blower keeps the cabin plenty warm in the winter
