1969 Triumph GT6 MKII Description

1969 Triumph GT6+ MKII, Bought this recently, thought I could just swap in a battery, change the fluids and bleed the brakes and have a fun ride for the summer, but the deeper I got into the car the more I realized it needs more than that and really should get a proper restoration. I bought it from a gentleman who found it on an estate while cutting wood and clearing land. It had been sitting next to the barn for almost 10 years (I guess that makes it a "next to the barn find" lol!). He did nothing with it and I bought it as it sat. That said I have no real history, but I do have a clear MA. title. This is what I do know now. Brakes will need all new hydraulics, BRAKES DO NOT WORK, clutch feels good, releases and grabs when rolling the car. I replaced the battery and starter solenoid and cranked the car over no problem (no battery will come with the car). I did not want to mess with the fuel system so I just sprayed starting fluid into the carbs and it fired right up. Carb linkages are free and work fine. Transmission and shifter feel good but I have not tried them with the car running. The drivers floor pan in front of the seat needs replacement, the pass floor in front of seat has been armature patched, both outer rockers need work but inners are good, both rear wheel well lips have some rust as shown in pics, rear panel exc, bonnet is a fiberglass reproduction of a MKI bonnet as it has no side gills, frame and out riggers are very good, left front wheel has rubbed the fire wall, see pics, that and the bonnet replacement may indicate past accident damage? interior is ok, mismatched seats? dash pad is cracked, wood veneer needs work, heat core is bypassed. All in all it is a complete and solid GT6, just don't want it to sit around again, as I don't know when I could get to it. I have many more pics and can check anything else you want, just ask. Mark.
