1979 Camaro Bumblebee Clone
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Description
This 1979 Camaro was a project of mine that needs to be finished. (started 2009)The body is straight the paint is beautiful, the paint is the newer camaro yellow, the stripes were painted on, my attempt to take a 1979 and mirror the Bumblebee car in the first transformers movie, down to every detail. The engine is a 305, it runs fine, however, it does build pressure and spit oil out of the dipstick. (my intention was to put a new motor in it) mileage is near 140,00The automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2012.Traction bars, pop riveted hood scoop. The rims and tires are all new mismatched as the original car in the movie, apparently Cragars are not what they used to be as this car has never seen the road and still they have begun to rust. The car does need the interior finished, I believe most if not all of the interior is there, there may be a few upgrades needed, possibly the dash panel if my memory serves me.I did purchase a new floor carpet for this car. (the floors are solid)The linkage on the new B&M shifter needs to be adjusted, however it will shift and drive.I took these pictures Sunday November 25, 2018, the car is dusty and needs to be washed, but still shows how straight the bodywork and paint is.The brakes are touchy, due to sitting in the garage I guess, apparently in reverse everything works fine, as soon as you shift to drive and tap the brakes the rears seem to grab, so they will need to be looked at before driving on the road. (a month or so ago I did back it out and drove it, the brakes seemed to release after a lengthy run up and down the driveway)This car is priced to sell as we have moved and the location where this car is stored is sold.
The Camaro is truly a beautiful car, the hard part is done, it just needs to be completed.
Vehicle needs to be picked up prior to Dec 4th, we may be able to move it if the time frame is too tight to arrange for pickup.
