1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Autographed Shelby clone, project car needs work LQQK
1966 Ford Mustang Base Fastback 2-Door Description
I bought this Mustang in 2008 for my husband as a welcome back from Iraq gift.. Not knowing much about them, i basically looked at the car and did not know the proper things to look for when buying a car like this, being female, i was taken advantage of and paid many more thousands than i am asking. Husband drove it 2 times and said it's a project that needs some work and he would get to it at some point maybe upon retiring...now he's overseas for a few years on a contract job and will never get to the car because we plan to move out of state within 2 years upon retiring so the mustang must go. With that said...this car was driven 2 times in 2008, it has been started two times since then, last being in 2010 which was long enough to move it from garage to our shop..now, it doesn't start at all but i'm sure with some work, it could be cranked....nothing has been done to the car since i bought it. I was told the motor was not original 298 but this motor is supposedly good and newer. Transmission is 3 speed and doesn't shift right, it needs work or rebuilding/replace. The drum brakes need replacing, one is stuck and front left tire is locked up. Floor pans were replaced when i bought it so they are good. It has a new radiator. I'm female so i'll show pics of the engine to show the "holly/edlebrock" items...i'm don't have the knowledge about this stuff. Interior is great, it has a autographed glove door by Carroll Shelby. I had this done and have the paperwork to go with it. Back seat folds down and pass through area is in pretty good shape. Frame has some rust, under doors has some rust...inner wheel wells has some rust. I will try to show in pics as best as i can. Trunk key is stuck in the lock, so it needs some work. It has side pipes, which when started does give it a nice throaty loud sound...I am in South Alabama, an hour from the florida pan handle...you would need a flat bed and the ability to pull it up onto since the car is inop at the moment...this has a lot of potential, the former owner was attempting to make this car a shelby clone/rent a racer so it's a partial job. This is a project car and will require someone who can work on the rust and get the transmission and brakes done..etc. I will not ship, you will have to make arrangements....thank youPS..my reserve is very reasonable and not terribly far from opening price...just trying to get back 3/4ths of what i paid for her...
